Orthotherapy and massage therapy
Calm your pain with orthotherapy and massage therapy in Gatineau
Our orthotherapists and massage therapists use a variety of techniques to relieve you. Therapeutic massage can facilitate blood circulation, increase the range of motion or release muscle tension. Orthotherapy, on the other hand, combines massage therapy and physiotherapy to relieve many forms of pain and treat joint stiffness and muscle spasms.
Jaw massage (TMJ)
Jaw massage is a specialized technique for the treatment of localized pain in the jaw and temporomandibular joint (TMJ). This technique can also relieve tension in the masseter or temporal muscles, the main muscles of the jaw.
Sports taping or neuro-proprioceptive taping
The use of neuro-proprioceptive taping is complementary to massage therapy. This technique uses elastic bands of different lengths. The bands calm pain, support muscles and provide support for the joint in the event of injury or if this part of the body has recently been overstretched.
Therapeutic massage therapy
Therapeutic massage therapy is a massage that consists of working and reducing your chronic pain using various techniques. These techniques include, among others, myofascial stretching, isometry and thermotherapy (heat or cold). We will adapt our treatment by considering your needs and performing a postural analysis.
Orthotherapy
Orthotherapy combines kinesitherapy (muscle stretching and joint mobilization) and massage therapy for the prevention and relief of pain associated with many musculoskeletal disorders and with poor posture, accidents, sedentary lifestyles or repeated movements. The orthotherapist can also offer you therapeutic exercises to do at home.
To minimize the risks to your health, we strongly recommend that you talk to your doctor before consulting our massage therapists and orthotherapists.
